So why do dogs like to drink dirty water? Ewwww.... It just grosses me out when she tries to help load the dishwasher. I know she thinks she's helping me, but my gag reflex is weak.

I have always liked dogs, but I was more of a cat person most of my life. Now I love them equally and no one feels left out or second wheel. :) At night on our bed, there is barely room for my husband and me. Lee Lee thinks she's a cute little lap dog puppy and the cats like to push me off the bed!!!!!!!!
The saddest thing about Lee Lee: she was originally adopted from a shelter and has a chip in her shoulder. We found this out when I took her to the vet. By then we had bonded and my heart was broken. I figured the owners would want her back, she was so wonderful. They were contacted. NOPE. They didn't want her. Praise God for our sake, but I also wanted to go punch them in the face. I think they just turned her out and let her go.
Click on the link below to see her story and see how skinny she was when she came to our back door. JUST MAKES ME SICK to see those pictures, bless her heart. I'm so glad and angel had her back and sent her to us. She's my girl.
SPAY AND NEUTER. RESCUE THE DEFENSELESS AND HOMELESS!!!
With today's economy, shelters are full as people can't afford their pets any more or they are abandoning them as they are having to leave their homes.

Once I was a lonely dog,
Just looking for a home.
I had no place to go,
No one to call my own.
I wandered up and down the streets,
in rain in heat and snow.
I ate what ever I could find,
I was always on the go.
My skin would itch, my feet were sore,
My body ached with pain.
And no one stopped to give a pat
Or a gently say my name.
I never saw a loving glance,
I was always on the run.
For people thought that hurting me
was really lots of fun.
And then one day I heard a voice
So gentle, kind and sweet,
And arms so soft reached down to me
And took me off my feet.
No one again will hurt you
Was whispered in my ear.
You’ll have a home to call your own
where you will know no fear
You will be dry, you will be warm,
you’ll have enough to eat
And rest assured that when you sleep,
your dreams will all be sweet.
I was afraid I must admit,
I’ve lived so long in fear.
I can’t remember when I let
A human come so near.
And as she tended to my wounds
And bathed and brushed my fur
She told me ‘bout the rescue group
And what it meant to her.
She said, We are a circle,
A line that never ends.
And in the center there is you
protected by new friends.

We got our cat from the shelter. She was "owner surrendered." Yesterday we were at the pet store getting an aquatic plant for a science experiment. There were kittens. The girls wanted one. I said no. If we were to get another cat, it would be another one from the shelter. Shelter animals are usually the kindest and best pets to have.
Love you.
Hugs,
Melinda
Maybe I'm being mean, but when you found the owners they should have been fined for neglect. No animal should be that emaciated *ever*. Lee Lee is better off with you than those other nasty people.
You know, I am all about Rescue! All of the pets who are Rescued, know it! A stab at a second chance!
My dogs do the same thing with the dishwasher! LOL!

It breaks my heart to hear of pets abandoned or abused - so glad you were able to rescue Lee Lee.
